Happily I rediscovered Jeremy’s music collection this morning. Yay! I forgot how much I like to listen to Tegan and Sara, as well as Beth Orton. I feel like I’ve only been listening to ChinesePod for the last few weeks.
So, class has begun. I am taking 12 hours, which is 3 classes that each meet twice a week for two hours: 听力 (listening), 口语 (speaking), 综合 (literally “comprehensive” but it focuses on grammar). My classmates are 卢巧福 (Charles) from Australia, 美琳 (Karina) from Switzerland, 利佳丽 (Angels) from Spain, Michael from US, 吴昶虎 and 金民知 Ming Zhi from Korea.
Most of my classmates seem to be taking the full 16 hours, but I’ve decided to skip the writing class. Of course I really want to practice writing, but I think it’s more important to use class time for listening, speaking, and grammar. I find the writing classes to be like a discussion of dictionary entries. And to be honest my other classes already kind of have that problem. It’s easier to discuss each word rather than practice talking and listening to entire sentences.
Anyway, I’m relatively happy with my classes. My web projects still distract me, but I feel like I can make some progress this semester.

Good to hear more from the other side of the world… have been wondering how classes are going. Also, wondering if you have need of any more credit card stuff.
Oooh. Just noticed the new pics! Will check them out.
I love you.
Oops. Thought they were pics that you took.
Have you taken more pictures of your apartment? Inside and out?
LOVE YOU! MOM
