Ok, not sure if this is a national problem with the Spiderman 3 posters, but Jeremy just noticed that in Kunming all of the promotional materials are messed up. The Chinese is fine and some of the English is a little silly, but there is a colossal mistake repeated on every bit of their signage — including the window decals.
The English word “Spiderman” never actually appears on the posters. Instead, above “蜘蛛侠” and Spiderman’s outstretched arms in that Spiderman-y font it reads: “ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPRSTUVWY - 3″.
Anyone in Shanghai or Beijing see the same mistake? Other metro areas?
Sadly, you may notice even the alphabet is transposed incorrectly. The letters “Q”, “X”, and “Z” are missing.

蜘蛛侠3我去看了, 非常精彩, 比起以前几部来要精彩得多.
Elizabeth, 你的博客做得非常不错. 我是你衷实的读者.:)
I am a new one here.
For the posters, I also read in Kunming.
That is not a national problem.
While watching the “A,B,C etc”, 3 thoughts came up to me:
1.Same as yours, I think it stupid.
2.Interesting. Make me laugh a lot.
3.So smart are Chinese (the guy sold this poster doesn’t know English, but he is trying to follow up.)
There is a fact here: only the guys from college or the new-period Chinese (you could easily find some middle-school students speak fluent English in Kunming) know English. However, the poster-producer never trys to waste his money to hire people like those since he doesn’t think it is necessary.
I live in Guangzhou and I haven\\\’t seen anything like this on the Spidey posters. Though, I think it is a good marketing strategy since errors like this get a lot more press than posters without errors.
Woo~~
John is much cuter than me.
